Moe’s Broadway Bagel, which was founded in Boulder in 1992, opened its second Denver location over the weekend at 1390 S. Colorado Blvd.

The family-owned mini-chain boils and bakes its bagels, which are made with organic flour. The company supplies many delis, coffee shops and other businesses in the metro area.

Over the years, owners John and Patty Sherman brought family members, including their adult children, to help run the business. Moe’s has four locations in Boulder, one each in Longmont and Louisville, and now two in Denver; the other Denver one is at 550 Grant St.

Moe’s joins a rising tide of bagel shops like one-year-old Rich Spirit Bagels in Wheat Ridge and Odell’s Bagel, which opened last fall in Denver’s West Highland; local powerhouse Rosenberg’s Bagels and Delicatessen; trendy sandwich specialist Call Your Mother, which continues to add new stores in metro Denver; and Leroy’s Bagel, which is planning second location.
