Eleanor Ruth Wyatt OBITUARY

Eleanor Ruth Wyatt OBITUARY

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on April 4, 2025 in Bakersfield, California. She died peacefully at the age of 100, just 48 days shy of her 101st birthday.

Eleanor was born on May 22, 1924 in Nebraska to Floyd and Lenora Tolliver. In 1945, she married Clarence “Tug”” Wyatt. They raised their children Vickie and Gregg in Westminster, Colorado. After Vickie graduated from college and Gregg joined the Army, they lived in Arvada, Bailey, and Cedaredge, Colorado. In 1992, after the passing of Tug, Eleanor moved to Grand Junction where she lived independently. Up until her passing, she drove her own car, did her own shopping, cared for her home, and made her own meals. In 2024, family and friends gathered to celebrate her milestone birthday. People were amazed at how young she looked for her age.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, three sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her daughter Vickie (Bill) Shoenhair; daughter-in-law Holly Wyatt; two grandchildren, Ricky Wyatt and Jennifer Wyatt; three great-grandchildren, Emaleigh (Jacob) Flannigan, Shawn (Alexia) Wyatt and Quentin Wyatt; one great great-grandchild, Sean Flannagan. The family wishes to give special thanks to Korwyn and Ken Fuller, Gretchen Weaver, and daughter-in-law Holly Wyatt for their unwavering support of Eleanor since her arrival in Grand Junction.

A graveside service to celebrate Eleanor’s life will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 11am at Cedaredge Cemetery in Cedaredge, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org in memory of Eleanor.
